Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar on Friday hosted 300 orphans selected from the 14 local government areas of the state to a special Sallah dinner at his residence in Talata Mafara town.
Yari who presented gifts to the orphans, said hosting the 300 orphans to a special Sallah dinner was to give them a sense of belonging.
He said his administration would continue to give top priority to issues relating to orphans and the less privileged as they remain the integral part of the society.
“You are very dear to me and I will continue to make sure that you are treated like my biological children”, he assured the orphans.
The governor called on wealthy Nigerians and organizations to complement government in bringing succour to the less privileged and vulnerable in the society.
He urged Muslims to imbibe the spirit of the just concluded Ramadan fast, which is love and sharing.
Responding on behalf of the orphans, Sagir D. Sani expressed delight over the Sallah dinner which he said will linger for a long time in their memories.
The governor also on Friday paid Sallah homage to three Emirs in Zamfara West Senatorial zone to seek for their support and prayers in the fight against banditry and other forms of crimes.
The Emirs are that of Bakura, Engr. Bello Sani, Emir of Mafara, Bello Barmo and Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Tambari.
